small entryway, big inspiration

small entryway, big inspiration

my husband and I own a small condo in the heart of edmonton, and after a year of living here, and having limited time to decorate to our taste, we are ready to start tackling decor projects! our entryway is small, lacks natural light, but i know with a well thought-out design we will be able to make it feel bright and welcoming. i love neutrals, and am loving the clean white walls on trend this year, and minimal colour from natural piece, adding some texture and colour from greens, and brown from some wood pieces, and adding some black to add some variety. for the walls, i envision a large mirror to give the illusion of a larger space, and perhaps a functional and modern way to store our keys. here are some images i've gathered that are my inspiration for our entryway freshen up.

i love how simple this is. it's clean, inviting and functional. i love the idea of table styling with every day used items.

seating in an entryway is pretty well a no-brainer. how nice to be able to take a seat to put your shoes on (especially in our long edmonton winters where bundling up is a must) i also am loving the white framed mirror on the white wall, less busy looking, and opens up the small space. and as well as mirrors looking incredible incorporated into design, it's nice to have the vertical mirror to take one last peak and yourself before you head out. another thing i'm drawn to are the coat/accessory hangers. they add some colour and great functionality for those every day items.

although this is beautiful, i know having a piece like this in our entry way wouldn't make the cut for it's size and not being all that functional for our space, however, i'm loving the lines and colours that are inspiring me for our refresh.

last, but not least (certainly not least) this is one of my absolute favourites! that mirror is to die for and i feel it would definitely give the feeling of a larger space. a little side table to put down items while you sit on the mod chair to get ready for the day gives me all the feels. and these are those greens i was talking about! doesn't it look amazing? and make you feel alive? loving this inspiration so much.
