your favourite gingersnaps
if you've been following my blog up until now, you've gotten the point that i love christmas! and one thing that always satisfies my belly and my heart are the amazing gingersnap cookies mama always made, so i've decided to share it with you, so you too can enjoy them!
- 1 1/2 cups margarine or salted butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp ground cloves
- 2 tsp ginger
preheat oven to 375. first, cream margarine, sugar and eggs, then add molasses. sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger and add to first group. roll into 1 inch balls. dip in sugar. place about 2 inches apart on cookies sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
this recipe doubled is perfect for christmas baking to feed all of your family and friends! what mama tells me makes this gingersnap recipe better than all the rest she has tried is that all of the spices are doubled. you'll just have to try them out for yourself to taste the difference!
