my pregnancy: 17 weeks
so if you follow me on instagram, you've probably noticed that my husband and i are expecting our first baby! we are absolutely thrilled and can't wait to meet our little bean.
bradley (my husband) and i were married only 4 months ago, and we knew we wanted to try for a baby immediately after. to our surprise, we got pregnant the first month! we know how very fortunate we are and have not taken this little miracle for granted for one moment.
the first trimester was tough to say the least. lucky me had morning sickness (really it should be called all day sickness) and extreme fatigue. getting through my work day was a challenge and not easy to come home to feel nauseated and want to go straight to bed. although i didn't feel well, i kept the focus on that the symptoms meant something was happening in my body and that made it a (little) better. now that we are well into the second trimester, i am feeling a lot better, my nausea gone (thank goodness) and although i am still tired, it is not nearly what it was in the first 12 weeks.
- in two short weeks we are finding out the gender of this bean! we didn't even ponder for a moment when deciding to find out the gender. i ,especially, am a big planner and not having clothes and the nursery to reflect the gender would give me anxiety. (i'll keep you posted on this!)
- to touch on the above mentioned, the NURSERY! i am so excited to incorporate my design to make a sweet little place for this little one to rest. currently, bradley and i are in a one bedroom condo, and have decided to stay here until the baby is about 6 months, so we will have a shared space, which i really don't mind since i am sure i would have had the baby near us during this time anyway! we will just have to get creative with our storage and design.
- telling our family was pretty amazing. my older sister has 4 children, and my sister-in-law has 3, they, and the grandparents are looking so forward to another addition to the family and the soon to be little cousin. family is everything to me so this was something i looked so forward to. it was a little bittersweet i must say though, as i lost my dad just over a year ago, and not having him there to share this amazing news with broke my heart, but knowing how happy and loved our baby would have been by their papa eases the pain.
and so, that concludes this post on my pregnancy thus far. i'll be sure to make updates on this journey of ours! thanks so much for visiting, xo.
